Plein Air landscape painting techniques

The goal of this class is to become familiar with the basic elements of creating landscape painting, with special importance placed on capturing light effects using a simple plein air method. Students will learn how to render a landscape, starting from its simplest elements and proceeding to finer details and relationships. Various aspects of landscape painting will be covered, depending on the level of each student. These will include understanding values, color relationships, perspective, drawing, and different ways of handling pigment. During this course, students will first learn about basic color mixing strategies and different qualities of oil paint and/or acrylics.
