Young artist program
for ages 8-13
Saturday mornings 9-11am 6 weeks, $255 12 weeks, $460 (10% discount)
This weekly class is designed to expose children to the basics of Classical Drawing and Painting. Running counter to the prevailing notion that kids should only express themselves in making art, our goal is to lay a solid foundation of classical understanding in a young child that can be built upon in later stages.
Students will engage in making art projects that demonstrate an understanding of these elements: • Control of values and tone • Composition • Color interaction • Proportion • Introduction to perspective Class size is limited to 12 students.
About the instructor:

She became involved with the Teaching Studios when she began studying figure drawing and painting with us in the summer of 2010. Julieann’s paintings have been included in exhibitions on Long Island, in New York City and Connecticut. She had her first solo exhibit in Glen Cove, New York in 1998. Her paintings are also included in private collections on Long Island, in Colorado, Florida and California.
