the realm of the figure:
perspective and the placement of figures in space |
|
|
| |
| For advanced students only. |
This course, taught by Tim Kent, is designed to show the student who has already studied the basics of figure and landscape painting how to ensure design integrity as they conceive of their paintings. The goal of this 8 week class is to encourage students to begin designing advanced compositions for a stronger visual narrative with an emphasis on placing the figure into the composition. During the course of the class, we will deal with both aspects of perspective drawing and compositional design, from its practical application through to the transfer of under drawings on to canvas. This will prepare students to have a strong foundation in the design skills required for their painting. Weekly presentations will also demonstrate how different artists throughout history have utilized these elements. |
