This summer your child can experience something totally new: an immersion into the world of traditional drawing and painting. There is a long history of famous artists getting their training as children.
Young artists who join our Summer Camp learn time honored academic methods of drawing and painting. They also learn about various disciplines such as illustration, landscape, sculpture and more. And we make it fun, while staying true to classical methods.
Children come out of the each workshop week with a better understanding of key concepts of drawing and painting such how light works, value, color and much more. All materials are included.
A wide variety of subjects will be covered, including:

Students will learn basic concepts of “plein air” painting (we will discuss foreground vs. background, sharp vs. soft edges to portray distance, values when rendering foreground vs. distance, large shapes vs. smaller for distance, etc) and then begin their own plain air landscape using pastels.
