Foundations of Academic Drawing and Painting offers a step-by-step approach to the fundamentals of drawing and painting in the classical tradition, and represents the very core concepts of what we do best at the Teaching Studios of Art. A very informative and comprehensive class, students will learn a working method that will span the genres of Still Life, Landscape, Old Master Copy. The media taught include oil acrylic and watercolor.

Students will work on individual projects initially. First, they will block-in a Still Life in pencil, then transfer the drawing to a canvas., or work on watercolor paper. They will execute both a value and color study, then proceed to make a finished painting. Students will then repeat this process in a variety of genres, following the exact same steps.
