In Foundations of Watercolor, Ink and Gouache the instructor will teach students in the basics of watercolor, ink and gouache, along with the usage of s drawing materials like pencil and charcoal . Part of our Foundations Program, the subject matter for this class will be either objects of personal interest brought in by the students (florals, still life objects, etc), or copying watercolors by historical masters of the medium, like John Singer Sargent, Winslow Homer and William Turner.

Weather permitting, Tulis will occasionally take students outside to do landscape and architecture studies around Oyster Bay.

Extra credit if students bring in taxidermies of insects as objects of study, as the instructor has a fondness for them.

This is a terrific class for creating work for a portfolio for college, or for building a body of work for yourself.
