Description

In Foundations of Landscape Painting in Watercolor, Gouache and Oils- Teen Portfolio Development Class , students will learn about the basics of creating a convincing landscape. They will study landscape paintings by such masters as Claude Monet, Winslow Homer, Vincent Van Gogh, John Constable, etc, from whom students will make replicas.

With every landscape, students will progress from drawing into painting by breaking down the landscape into its most basic shapes and then build up composition to be more detailed. Students will paint with color and learn how this element helps to create a beautiful landscape painting. Students will study various techniques, and discuss how to use them to create landscape paintings. The final goal of the class is for students to be able to create their own landscapes independently, either from their imagination or from a photograph, for their own collections or college portfolios.
