Description

In Landscape Painting for Kids students will learn about the basics of creating a  convincing landscape. We will be looking at and discussing  landscape paintings by such masters as Claude Monet, Winslow Homer, Vincent Van Gogh, John Constable, etc, from whom  students will do copies.

With every landscape, students will progress from drawing the landscape and then move into painting by breaking down the landscape into its most basic shapes. Afterwards, they then build up composition to be more detailed.

Students will paint with color and learn  how color adds to these topics to create a beautiful landscape painting. We will be looking at artists who used different techniques, and  discuss how to use them to create  landscape paintings. The final goal of the class is for students to be able to create their own landscape either from their imagination or from a photograph.
